Allison Brooks Janney, an American actress was born in 1959. Her performances on screen and the stage have been highly praised throughout her long career. Janney has been honored with various awards including one Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. Additionally, she received seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Additionally, she was nominated for two Tony Awards. Janney was originally from Boston and grew up near Dayton the city of Dayton in Ohio. After her graduation at Kenyon College, she received an entire scholarship to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Janney's first appearance on television was 1999 when she appeared as C. J. Cregg on NBC's political drama The West Wing (from 1999 from 1999 to). She was awarded four Primetime Emmy Awards for the part. Janney got her Primetime Emmy Award in 2014 for Outstanding actresses in Drama Series. She won this award for her performance as Margaret Scully in Showtime's drama Masters of Sex. Janney was nominated seven times for Primetime Emmy Awards and twice won Outstanding Supporting Actress Comedy Series.
